Games that used to run fine are now crashing

Hello, I recently have been experiancing some issues with mainly steam and steam games, but also with some hardware related stuff. I bought my pc (prebuilt cyberpowerpc) back in 2016 and when I first got it I could run most of my games with no issues (Exept for CS;GO but that issue from then was fixed, CS:GO now has a new issue that I cant fix).

One game in particular was Planet Coaster. This game ran perfectly, with no crashes, great fps, on the highest possible settings availiable. Id say I was playing this game for quite a while then I took a break from it and this is were all the problems arise. Nowadays, when I launch planet coaster it seems to work completely fine, normal startup, good fps, etc. Anywere from 2 - 45 Min in the game does 1 of 3 things.

1. game freezes for 1-5 sec, procceeds to blackscreen, then sends me to the homepage with the planet coaster customer support crash thing.
2. game completely shuts off with no report or error
3. game blackscreen and my monitor disconects, (basicaly forcing me to restart pc)

Planet Coaster isnt the only game that does these types of crashes. Here is a list.

Garrys Mod, - Game shuts completely down at random when in a server with no crash report
Rust - Oh were do I start, All 3 of the Planet Coaster Crashes happen in rust, and also lately right when I am receiving data to a rust server, the game shuts down with no warning.

The random shutoffs of games has been happening with games throughout my pc in the last week and i'm worried I may have changed something that could be causing these issues.

REMINDER I have changed one thing from the pc you see on amazon and that is that I got rid of the two 4gb DDR4 Ram sticks in replacement for 1 8gb DDR4 Ram stick

(yes I know I should have built it, I was very new with computers at the time.)

PS: I am not the best when it comes to PCs and I don't know that much about them, all the help you all can give is appreciated!

If you have any ideas on how I can fix/improve please let me know ASAP!

I think you’re going to need a second stick of RAM to go with that to get the dual channel out of it

I believe you will need two those old sticks of 4GB to get the full speed and performance you’re looking for and you can’t just put one stick in and get dual channel performances

Or just put 2 8GB sticks in

Thanks so much for the reply, Ive been considering buying a replica of the 8gb stick I have in right now, but havnt really thought about it. I may buy it but not sure yet

I tried it out, Same problem, shuts down program completely

GPU avg is around 50 degrees Celsius
CPU cores avg around 45 degrees Celsius
I dont think its a heat issue, the crashing with no error has been sprouting up more recently
