Recently, a few of my PC games began failing to even launch, only giving me a popup stating that the game has crashed. So after reading through several forums, through Steam, I verified the integrity of the game files and also cleared the download cache, neither "fix" worked. I even reinstalled one of the games, which still didn't fix the problem. I then decided to go ahead and use Display Driver Uninstaller, not really expecting it to fix anything. Well, it actually fixed the problem, it didn't really make much sense to me but hey, it allowed all my games to launch properly. I tested about 5 games a few minutes on each and even ran stress tests with Cinebench and 3D Mark. Everything seemed back to normal!! As a final check, I shutdown the computer for a few minutes and then turned it back on. I once again clicked on a few of the games that were having trouble launching and the same exact problem is back! They don't want to launch. I'm starting to run out of ideas. Not sure what is causing the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe some software or some setting is automatically turning back on during the shutdown. Idk, nothing makes sense.

I was having similar problems. cannot say for sure that this will work but it was my solution.
I removed a stick of RAM. seemed to stabilize dug some digging into the BIOS and found out my RAM was being under-volted and was becoming unstable in dual channel mode. added the proper .1V and system is good.
double check the voltages, try a single stick if you can.

Ok I'll try a single stick tomorrow and see how it performs. Ill also have to check on the voltages. Did you ever have to use display driver uninstaller to help with your fix or was it only your RAM?

Sorry for the late response, so i tried to get it working by switching over to single channel memory but it didn't help. I even tried DDU again. Anyways, i got it working by switching out the cpu and mobo. Everything (software) works as it should. I have a testbed that ill use later on to troubleshoot the original cpu and mobo. I've at least narrowed down the problem to those two things. And it could very well be a dimm slot. Ill find out soon. Thanks for your suggestions
