every time i start up a new game i get an error message: a
fatal exception has occurred at 0028:c0059d2d. This only
happens with newer games, and occurs when the game starts
into the playing. you can enter the in-game menus but when
you start the gameplay the computer comes up with this
message. any help would be welcomed.

my comp specs are:
256 mb ram
2.4 gb amd athlon processor
windows 98
