I don't have broadband so I'm forced to play against Bots. A few weeks ago I
noticed that the Bots are running around like they are on speed or
something. I checked the INI file and gamespeed is set to 1. I've read the
FAQ, owner's manual & all readme files. I tried it this morning & saw a Bot
make a vertical jump of about 100 feet. (Translocator is turned off) I've
tried setting Bot skill to Novice, but it made no difference. I've patched
the game to the latest version, but it made no difference. How do I slow
these guys down?

Weird. Are you playing on a laptop, by any chance?

No laptop. I agree it's weird. Another strange thing, if I am in "Spectator"
mode, the Bot speed looks about normal. (Still a tad fast) If I have
Translocator turned on, all the Bots are (except me) hopping around like
Fleas on a hot skillet.

All bots? Do they have a yellow trail behind them?

Perhaps some jump pad? Just trying to cut down on the Dûh-factor here :)

Look in your UT2004.ini
what does it say beside GameDifficulty=????????

You will find GameDifficulty=1.000000 ALOT easier 😛
