I came up with this build with the help of a few friends. I have never built a gaming PC before but couldn't be more excited to finally have enough saved up for one. My friend is selling me his gtx 970 for cheap and throwing in that power supply. I just read that the ryzen scales well with faster RAM so I may try to find something better. I am looking for any advice people have, especially something you notice that will not be compatible or create any major issues. Thanks so much!

Solution
Toss the CPU cooler, the Ryzen comes with one on a similar performance scale as that one. Get faster RAM. That's a great power supply, but overkill for your build. Save some money on a cheaper one and upgrade your other parts like motherboard, RAM, and a better case.

*Edit: I just realized you don't have a secondary storage drive. I would add a 1Tb or 2TB for game storage.

Here's what I would change:

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor ($159.89 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - B450 AORUS ELITE ATX AM4 Motherboard ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Team - Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($70.98 @ Newegg)...
