i would like to know how many cores or amd modules are fine for gaming?how big differnce is between fx 8350 and fx 6300 in gaming?for example in bf3

Solution
Both newer softwares and games are starting to use more than 4 cores. bf3 uses 6 cores if im not mistaken.

I'd get the fx 8350 if you have the money as 8 cores will do excellent in the future. Also it is a great overclocker.
Otherwise the 6300 is not too shabby at all.

No. It will be around 15-20% better in best case situations. Especially if you are going to overclock the 6300.

For current games, the FX 6300 would suffice for you just fine...or the 6350 if you're not going to overclock.

Also you may look at the 8320 if you intend to overclock...especially if it's priced close to the 6300.

Right now the vast majority of games only use 2 cores with some games capable of using 4 cores and very using 6 cores. That is a very general statement, but it is correct.

Battlefield 3 only uses 2 cores in single player campaign, however in multiplayer mode, it can use up to 6 cores. In the below chart you can see that while the 8 core FX-8350 gets higher than the 6 core FX-6350, it is also 500MHz faster. Therefore, the extra 2 cores do not really seem to make any difference. Technically speaking, OC'ing the FX-6350 to 4.0GHz should provide similar results.
