I'm planing on upgrading my pc soon and I am wondering if I should get a 1440p monitor or a 1080p monitor, both with 144hz refresh, 1ms response time, TN panels, and g-sync.
Here are the monitors I plan on gertting; 1440p=https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CwgPxr/dell-s2417dg-238-165hz-monitor-s2417dg 1080p=https://pcpartpicker.com/product/R998TW/aoc-monitor-g2460pg

My current PC=https://pcpartpicker.com/user/DargonLord/builds/

I plan on upgrading to a 1070 ti.

What I am wondering though is if I should upgrade to 1440p or stick to 1080p. I'm going to upgrade my monitor anyways, because I'm tired of screen tearing and want G-sync. But I don't plan on upgrading my pc agian for at least 3-4 years and I want to be able to play newer games at at least 60 fps during that time.
I could downscale the 1440p monitor to 1080p to get 60 fps, but I don't know how good that would look.

Also if I stick to 1080p I would get much better fps.

So do you think better resolution and lower fps is better or higher fps and lower resolution is better.
Thanks in advance!

I'd go with the Dell 1440p, as depending on what games you play you can change between 1440p and 1080p accordingly e.g. competitive games at 1080p to get that FPS, and single player and other games at 1440p at 60fps+ no problem. Though it really depends what games you play most, I think that the 1440p would be better as you do get the best of both worlds.

Not to mention Dell make some of the best monitors in my opinion.
