Hey there, been working on this audio problem for a couple weeks. Tried everything i could find on the net and nothing is working.

I have hooked the laptop up to tv with hdmi, and I DO get sound through the TV when in windows explorer and on youtube and such, but i cant get any sound when I am gaming.

I was playing the mass effect games and after MANY game reboots, eventually sound would come on. But now it will not at all. But, as mentioned, I do get HDMI sound in windows.

Hard to refine that in a search engine lol.

I have an asus rog g752v using nvidia geforce gtx 970m
Using Windows 10

I have reinstalled all drivers. I have defaulted audio devices under the playback devices. Ive tried order of operations. Ive tried everything i could find for weeks.

Under Playback devices, here is what is available:

NS-46L240A13-C
Nvidia High Definition Audio
*Default Device

Nvidia Output
Nvidia High Definition Audio
Not plugged in
(There are 2 of these)

Speakers
Realtek High Definition Audio
*Default Communications Device
(I have tried disabling this and it didnt matter, I do get sound from this when this is selected)

Realtek Digital Output
Real High Definition Audio
Disabled
(I disabled this because it never gives any sound ever, even when I ran the test - through speakers or tv hdmi)

Please help.
Thanks for your time!

Okay thanks!

I will try this and get back to you.

Any idea what the name would be under sound manager? The ones I have listed are all I have ever seen. But i may not be looking for the right thing.

Okay, just for reference, I am playing Mass Effect Andromeda now.

A few minutes ago, the sound loaded. Close the game and opened it again, and the sound is gone again.

Under the in-game settings, I do not see an way to select the audio output.

Under my sound settings, all that is listed is what I listed in the original post. Currently the default is the NS-46L240A13-C, which gets perfect audio in windows and only occasionally in gaming.

The two Nvidia outputs say they are not plugged in.

The realtek speakers play from the Pc only.

The realtek digital output has no sound at all.
