I plan to build a gaming PC according to the one I've created here: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1XSqq

I'd like to know firstly whether the build itself is fully compatible and if there would be any problems I may encounter. This is my first build but I have a somewhat good knowledge of computers so any compatibility issues I SHOULD be able to understand. I just can't notice them myself.

Secondly I'd like to know of any improvements that I could make that wouldn't add a substantial amount to the costs (even less would be brilliant if possible.)

Also if anyone could tell me how well the PC would perform when running high end games (Battlefield 4 etc.) I would appreciate it.

Thanks, Ryan
P.S I've already got a screen I can use it's 18 1/2"

You have alot of problems.

-get an i5 not an i7. an i7 is worthless over an i5 as they perform identical in games
-The motherboard is pretty low end, but because you are not overclocking it should be fine.
-That CPU cooler is WORSE than the one that comes with the CPU.
-Get 1600mhz 2x4gb RAM
-GPU should be upgraded if you want to play high end games at more than medium settings. (use saved money from switching to i5)
-Get a 500w PSU from antec, XFX, Corsair, Seasonic.

I would scrap that whole build. That power supply will be very underpowered for that rig. The CPU fan is junk, and the extra case fan is a waste of money. Here's what you should be doing for that budget:

20 quid more but everything on this rig will be better suited for gaming.

Thanks both of you! I had a feeling there would be quite a few performance issues. I'm glad I made the decision to ask here before making anything final.

Can anyone (if possible) estimate FPS in some high end games for me? I'd like to know how well the rig g-unit created would perform. Also (I may be pushing this) if there is anyway to make the rig cheaper with little impact on performance.

Thanks again, Ryan.

Edit: I had a go at making a cheaper version of g-unit's rig:

Once again I'd like to know if the changes I've made are good or bad, and how they will affect the PC's performance.
