Approximate Purchase Date: This weekend, I'll purchase everything else I need

Budget Range: $900

System Usage from Most to Least Important: I really only care about gaming, maybe some ability to record.

Are you buying a monitor: I have a 720p monitor, maybe suggest a cheap 1080p within my budget give or take a little?

Do you need to buy OS: Yes I do, has to be windows 7

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon preferably for the graphics card as I have amazon prime, and some credit on there. but any site will do for a good deal is ill save more then $50.

Location: Pensacola Florida, 32504

Parts Preferences: I'm hoping to get a good gtx 770 or even a 780 if its in the budget, but I don't think it is. I'd like to OC and be future proof if I want to upgrade in 2-5 years.

Overclocking: Yes I really would like to OC and be future proof, as well as keep the rig at some of the higher levels

SLI or crossfire: No, I only want one graphics card

Your Monitor Resolution: See above, I'd like to buy a 1080p monitor, but I can use this 720p untill i get a good deal on one later on in the future.

Additional Comments: I already own a few of the more expensive items, so that should help with the budget.

SSD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147193

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139028

Note, those are not included in my above $900 budget. So I have about 900 bucks left to play with if possible. Thanks for your help guys!

This is not true. 1.65v is fine for that CPU. I wouldn't recommend that RAM. I would only get 1.65v RAM if it were a faster bin, like 2133MHz CL9 or 2400MHz CL10, something of that nature. But for 1600MHz CL9 there are plenty of other kits available that use less voltage at the same price point.

How about this RAM, same price at Amazon. Faster than the 1333MHz you listed above and only 1.5v.

Crucial makes quality products and has excellent customer service.
I'd go with something like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($129.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Kingston Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($69.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($86.47 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($329.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($59.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $926.40
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-01-27 19:55 EST-0500)

Don't think I can fit a new 1080p monitor in there while being able to afford a 770.

Trouble is, GTX 770 is way overpowered for 720p. So it's kind of silly to have that nice of a GPU with that low of resolution.

I have a 400W Newtron 80PLus power supply thats new in the box, Think that would be good enough to power the computer temporarely and safely without OC'ing? Because i can always buy a better Power supply later on. I will get a 1080p monitor in a couple weeks if we cant get on in that budget though.

Naw not for a GTX 770. Not safely anyway. That 400w PSU offers 25 Amps on the 12v+ rail. The GTX 770 is recommended to have 42 Amps on the 12v rail. I wouldn't even try it.

I forgot to add an optical drive and OS in my parts list. I don't think I can swing it. At least not with parts that I could recommend.
