Hello all,

I'm planning for a new build this year to put together with a month or less.
At present my budget is about $1,000-$1,100. Give or take.

I do I.T. work but for this desktop I'm wishing to mainly game on it and do regular tasks including recording my guitar playing and doing some audio and video editing.

For my budget of about $1,000 to $1,100, I will be playing RPG'S, tactical shooters, online war shooters action adventure games, simulators. Examples: Verdun, Doom, Skyrim, Star Citizen, Mass Effect, Diablo III, Starcraft. Etc.
I put together a few builds but wish for some newer builds anyone can think up.

CPU: I5 or I7. Won't be overclocking
GPU: probably gonna wind up with a 1060 unless someone can figure out a budget that fits a 1070.
Graphic settings and res: 1080p, all high settings. Ultra is good but it's not like I can't upgrade later.
I'll need Windows 10 too.

Future expectations: Swap out a few parts every 3 years or so. Eventually I'll play 1440p one day.

Thanks for build suggestions!

If you wont be playing 1440p with this GPU then you can save money and go for a GTX 1060 instead.

How's this?

I would use windows for free and activate later when you have more money versus sacrificing hardware now.

Option with cheaper CPU and better GPU.

Hello all. I have finally ordered a new full build with parts coming from Amazon and Newegg.

Here's the rundown: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xz79nH
Actual cost with decent shipping time= $1230.00 approximately. Compared to the big builders, this build saves me about $500 with a custom built for me pc.

I7 8700
Z370p d3 mobo
2x4 gb of 2400 speed ram
Evga gtx 1070 sc 8gb gpu
Evga 650 watt 80+ gold certified full modular psu
Cryorig h7 cpu cooler
Corsair spec 02 mid tower case
Seagate barracuda 2tb 7200 rpm hard drive
Arctic silver 5 thermal paste (probably won't need it but eh)
Thermaltake commander bundle 2400 dpi mouse and backlit keyboard.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll be around Tom's Hardware again one of these days.
