Witcher 3 is getting bundled with current gen cards to prevent people waiting, though personally I'd WAIT for a price drop and patches. You just know that they'll do a lot of fixes on this game over the period of a year if you know the history of W1 and W2.

I'm right at the point where I'm starting to recommend a 3GB video card for future proofing. I think DX12 (or Mantle) and the influence of next-gen consoles will soon cause a jump in the amount of VRAM recommeneded.

There are other reasons that suggest 2GB may still be fine for several years (streaming from System to VRAM) but since no one is certain I'm recommending people with about $300 wait for a GTX860 3GB card or better.

(Currently I recommend the GTX770 2GB, or R9-280X 3GB...
Your CPU is going to be a big bottleneck for many games ESPECIALLY Battlefield 4 in Multiplayer which can use almost 100% of an i5-4670 CPU. On the other hand, building a new system is going to cost a lot so it's a decision you have to make.

Depending on the budget, I would build something like this:

Update:
The R9-280X is a comparable price to the GTX770. It has slightly more VRAM which currently isn't a big deal but the future is uncertain. The NVIDIA cards have advantages such as: PhysX, Shadowplay (recording desktop/game), G-Sync for future monitor.

I like the ASUS card for either version (the Gigabyte was for someone else). If you don't care about any of the NVidia specific features then consider the Asus R9-280X.

New Maxwell GTX860/870/880 cards are coming soonish so there may be a better choice there. If considering waiting, I recommend building your system now and use the CPU's iGPU (in i5-4460 or similar) or a spare video card.

yes... that gpu should be fine. you might want to look into a new cpu/motherboard though... it's doubtful an old Phenom x2 will manage that game well.

It wait for this to drop

Of course, note that this is still a rumor, and it is still unconfirmed. Hopefully we will know more in September, when we expect Nvidia to launch new graphics cards.

If it does come out next month, as rumored, you have a choice of the 870 which will have 780 like performance or the choice of buying any 7xx or R2x card ant a much lower price.

(Currently I recommend the GTX770 2GB, or R9-280X 3GB both. Generally, if someone doesn't care about PhysX, Shadowplay, or G-Sync support I recommend a quality 280X to have the extra memory).
