I had ordered a gaming computer 2 days ago from CyberPowerPC. The PC had cost me a little over five thousand dollars and I wanted to be sure that my components went well together. I had chose a MSI Z690 Carbon as my motherboard but after completing my order. I called up CyberPowerPC to change my motherboard to a Asus ROG Z690 Hero. I have read some articles and it seems that the Asus ROG Z690 Hero may have some issues with RAM XMP. Also the MSI Z690 Carbon seems to have better reviews overall. I am concerned that I have made the wrong decision. I am thinking of calling CyberPowerPC back to ask them to retain my original motherboard but I am unsure. Could anyone please give me some advice on this purchase? I will provide the original specs of the machine.

I was not concerned about the price. Asus recalled Z370 ROG Hero motherboards last year. Also, I have heard that this particular board is not stable with XMP. Is this still a problem? Should I go with the MSI board instead?
I don't know anything about that Asus board but that MSI board you posted is solid. I'd switch out the 12900KS for a 12700K and drop down to a 240mm AIO and top mount it.

I am still unsure if I should call CyberPowerPC and switch back to original board. Asus is releasing quite a few bios updates. Which is kind of concerning. Also, the different motherboard cost me a extra $330 and I'm sure if the extra features are worth the money.

Whatever board you decide on you want to make sure it has solid VRM's seeing how the 12900KS is power hungry and it runs hot hence the reason I recommend the 12700K.

Since you don't plan on overclocking I'd run that build like this if you're going for the RGB look.
