Gaming computer?

Hello! I am completely clueless here and really need your advice. I want a tower to hook up to my imac for gaming. I love the display of a mac so there's my reasoning for that. I also want to make sure that it has speed, lots of memory, and great connection. I will only be using it to game in some mmos and stuff like that.

I have been considering saving up for an alienware x51, but someone told me to come on here and get some info from your guys and then to get a local computer store to build it for me. They said it'd be cheaper.

Any help you guys can give me will be appreciated greatly. I apologize for being a noob and if I haven't given enough information or anything like that! 😛

The best thing to do would be to build it yourself. Do you have any friends that know how to build one? certainly it would be cheaper and faster than buying one pre built from aleinware or where ever.

I would second the above poster's comment. Build it.

That said - why would you need friends to build a computer? All building a computer takes is some fine muscle control and a bit of research. If you ever have doubts something will work or not, just ask on forums and you'll get them sorted out right quick.

There is also a small blood sacrifice to be made to the CPU cooler, but otherwise it's just a matter of patience and matching the hookups.
