I am looking to put together a gaming desktop... the system will be used for 99% Counterstrike 1.6

I do take my gameplay very seriously and sometimes go for stretches of 100+ per week for months on end.....so I need a system that will play the game flawlessly...

I need to achieve 100fps at all times

Budget range: $500 - $700

Parts not required in build cost: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS

I am thinking of going with the new BenQ XL2420t 120hz monitor - so not sure if need a graphics that would be compatible or not?

Thanks!

Hello.

If Counterstrike is the only game you plan on playing, you can go much cheaper for your build.

100 FPS at all times is overkill really. The human eye cannot differentiate beyond 60FPS.

If money isn't a factor, you can build a very nice $700 system that will play all modern games at at least medium graphics settings at 1080p.

Also, the monitor you have chosen is likely overpriced. You can find high quality 1080p 24" displays for as little as $129.99.

$600-http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1mdny
$700-http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1mdqZ

I would have trouble recommending Intel at this price range, but if you prefer Intel, I'm sure I could make it work somehow.

If you have any questions about any of these builds or any other options, feel free to ask!

I have heard mixed reviews as far as what the eye can see... but more then anything for those that play this game at a somewhat serious level know this is not a game of easy kills, made easy for the masses, spray and pray for easy kills type game like COD etc., which is why there are still many that still play it more for the challenge then looks etc.,if you don't kill someone with a headshot from your first bullet you are a dead man, every fraction counts.. recoil from far distances needs to be kept under control, pre-fire placement etc. do you really think a $500 rig will give me all of that? I am only asking because even though I know the basics, you guys are the pro's. I don't mind spending the extra money if it will improve game play as I am not the casual gamer.

Thoughts?

So I was checking prices on PcPartPicker.com and if you go to search and put in "Intel Core i5-4570" this comes up for $194.29... but after looking up some builds of others on the same site, I ran across a build and when you click on it shows the part for $159.99, about $35 cheaper... so my question is how do you really find the cheapest price on the parts that I want?

Intel Core i5-4570http://pcpartpicker.com/search/?cc=us&q=Core+i5-4570 $194.29

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i54570 $159.99
