Hey, I was needing a gaming Desktop. I need it to (obviously) run games better than my current laptop. [i7-2670QM @ 2.2 GHZ] [12gb ram] [Geforce GTX 560M 3gb vram] [750gb 5200rpm] I would like this pc to be somewhat future-proof, so like I could use this in 2-3 years. Also I plan on using the consumer version oculus with this, which I assume will probably have a 4k panel. I want this to be as cheap as possible, and you dont need to include the os, and peripherals in the price. Also I have a spare desktop case, which I believe is a standard atx case, so you dont have to include that either.. anyways, thanks.

" I would like this pc to be somewhat future-proof" and "I want this to be as cheap as possible" don't really go together.

What budget you got? Exactly what case is it? - need to know what size mobo and psu and cpu cooler and graphics card will fit in it.

By future-proof, I just mean that in a year this computer wont be a useless hunk of garbage, and im not sure about the case.. I was trying to find it (because I got the case a while back on craigslist) and all I found was the model number which was: PC-252843A, if that doesnt give you enough information you can just include a new case in the price. also in terms of my budget, Id prefer this build to be under 1000 if possible..

Ok...
1. What's your budget?
2. What region are you in?
3. What Make and Model is the existing Case (to be able to check compatibility with form factors on PSU's, GFX Cards etc)
4. Oculus - http://www.octopusrift.com/pc-for-the-oculus-rift/ - go with a Haswell CPU and GTX970 or 980 and you're covered easily. If you want to overkill it SLI 2 x 970s or 980's.

My Build (which you can see if you hover over my Avatar) costs about USD1750 to purchase (and i built it my self) - i will put a larger Cooler in it at a later date, but so far I haven't managed to stress it enough to get off Idle and that's running an overclock of about 4650Mhz (turbo), or for the GFX Fans to turn on...so so quiet!

ok, so
1. my budget is to try as hard as you can to make this build under $1000..
2. Im in the u.s.
3. Im not sure of the model, so if you were to find a case that works well for cheap thats fine...

Hmm, take a look at this one http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vbr2ZL - you'll need the optical drive out of your old PC - I've come in at USD1115
