Hey there everyone so i was really confused in either getting gtx 1060 or 1070 for smooth 1080p gaming 60hz...iam pretty sure i wont upgrade to 144hz so the problem was that i saw 1060 couldn't get me smooth 60fps with everything cranked up like anti aliasing msaa and all but could get 40 fps easily but i dont really know that 40 fps for games like in rise of tomb raider or witcher 3 will cause much of a diffrence in comparison to fps games..or do antialiasing really look that good for fxaa vs msaa? for my budget i have 2 options

Gtx 1070 gigabyte mini,h110 msi pro gaming, core i5 6400,8gb ddr4 ram but i wpuld be giving up on ssd..

Or

Gtx 1060 6gb, b150 msi pro gaming,core i5 6500 ,8ddr4 ram,120gb ssd and will still be saving a couple of 100$ which are like 6700inr...

The difference IMO in most games between Ultra & High is pretty minimal and if the difference is 20 FPS then personally I'd prefer the higher FPS over better graphics. As far as how long it will last depends on what you think is acceptable. For me once I start going under 80 FPS (144 monitor) at Low settings is when I start to consider a upgrade however there are plenty of ppl out there that once they hit lower FPS on med or high settings they upgrade. And a few who even upgrade on a yearly basis to constantly have a high end system.

It depends entirely on what you do and the games you play. I too would lean toward a 6500 vs 6400. If you're going to play 1080p on a single display, a 6GB 1060 is made to play at a good frame rate on all but the most demanding of games. A 1070 would give you some additional wiggle room for the next couple of years, but it's a little overkill unless you're playing Nvidia Surround or VR games.

well if there isn't much of a difference i am fine with high settings but i would want the build to last atleast 3 years with high settings minimum
