hi, i recently ordered a Gaming Headphone K1B Pro, And it looks fantastic! but i have a problem, i cant figure out how to get the 7.1 to work! My motherboard is Gigabyte G41 M-Combo v1.3 ( and THE WINDOWS IS 7 32bit) and i downloaded the software for the Headphone but i get this Message when installing : usb gaming headset device does not exist.

Solution
So if you were me, what would you do now ? do i need to return and get a refund ? or keep trying to get the 7.1 to work somehow(can you tell me the way if possible)!?
You can try Windows Spatial Sound but ultimately if you want virtual surround sound you are best getting a 5.1/7.1 headset that has its own soundcard, usually USB. However my opinion is virtually surround sound is massively overrated and good headphones sound better without it.

Is it these? https://www.onikumagaming.com/products/k1-b-pro-camouflage-gaming-headset

The audio is via the 3.5mm which means the virtual surround sound would be software driven, for example Dolby Atmos for Headphones. These headphones don’t have their own 7.1 hardware which is often a usb soundcard.

Is this the headphone that you're working with? If so, then the USB port is to power the LED's on the headphone. The input on that headphone is analog meaning you're only going to get stereo, not even upmixed stereo sound.
Then, this problem is totally from the headphone, not my mobo or windows 7 32? if thats it, then this headphone is a scam and not 7.1 at all right ? any cheap 7.1 headphones you recommend ? thanks

In the link I shared there was no mention of 7.1 support. Ultimately there is no physical difference between a stereo headset and the majority of surround sound headphones, they both only have 2 drivers. The surround sound headphones either use their own soundcard (usb dongle) or software to try and simulate a surround sound effect through 2 drivers. No headphones come close to true surround sound speakers.

The best sounding for their price that I have tried were the HyperX Cloud II wired. I have had cheaper but they were all terrible.
