Gaming Headset Choice

Firstly I'm not really on a budget but ideally would like to spend between 100-200 euro. I'm not interested in a headphone / mic combo, I just want a headset as my Logitech G35 that I've had for about 4/5 year is on it's way out.

I've been caught up on headsets, not knowing which to buy. Haven't a clue about the difference or if it matters whether it's 7.1 or stereo. I do play FPS games, WoW, LoL, Fortnite so I guess in some instances knowing the direction of footsteps is ideal.

I've been looking at the Sennheiser Game One's, the PC 373ds, Corsair Void Pro's, Logitech G633, Ideally I want something with good sound and a good mic.

Any suggestions / tips? been looking for weeks now

If you want the virtual surround, the PC 373d are the best bet since it comes with it's own sound card that supports it and the open-back design is much better for surround modes (the wider sound stage gives surround much more depth IMO). If you watch movies on your headset this is also a better choice since the sound card will decode dolby 5.1.

That being said, the Game One's will also be a good choice and you can just use the "headphone" output mode on games that support it, that will enable the v-surround driver that is built-into the game (which is almost as good as the HW decode on sound cards, personally I do prefer the Dolby decoding algorithm, and not all games support surround built-in).

Personally I am using a Samson SR850 with a Zalman ZM-Mic1 and a dolby USB sound card, not quite as good as the Senns however all said and done it's a sub-$60 solution I am extremely happy with.

I have the VOID Pro headset. Can't say I'm a huge fan. The drivers are great when they actually work. But I get this weird crackling noise pretty often have to restart my PC to get it to stop and that doesn't always work either. Could also be a driver conflict I never cared enough to figure it out.

The microphone also sucks for recording. Maybe it's my software idk. My guild says it's crystal clear on discord but it sounds like a $20 xbox microphone when I listen to my recordings.

I'd say unless you care about matching peripherals, scratch the VOID off your list. maybe I got bad QC idk. Just not a big fan. I really wish I would have gotten wireless as well. The cable is kinda short and gets in the way ALL THE TIME.
Only real reason I have it is because of my other Corsair peripherals.
