Gaming headset microphone suddenly stopped working

I have a Logitech G230 headset that I bought from eBay 2 years ago. I was playing with my friend until he suddenly stopped hearing me. My headphones are still working, but not the mic. I have tried plugging my mic to the front of the computer instead of the back and it still was not working. I checked in "Recording Devices" and the green bar is not moving, but it knows that something is plugged in. I tried a different headset and it is working. Any ideas? If I don't have a fix soon, I will just buy a new G430.

Try the problem G230 headset/microphone on another computer with known working audio: headsets and mic.

If the problem follows the problem G230 headset then it is fairly likely that the headset is indeed the problem.
