Gaming Headset Recommendation (Open-back?)

Hello,

Looking to see if anyone has a recommendation for a gaming headset; currently I use the latest Razor Kraken which i have loved. My issue is i've moved into the living situation where i want to be able to hear what is going on around me while i'm using the headset. The Kraken is good but the noise cancelling makes me oblivious to what is going on around me in my home. Done some research and found that an 'open-back' headset may be the way to go.

Lots to pick from, need a budget though. Usually the best thing for open "gaming" headphones is a normal headphone with a mod mic like this SHP9500 setup
