Gaming Headset Under $300.00

Good afternoon all,
So After having economic issues for a while, I'm back in to the gaming PC, being PC my only Gaming source. I have a very nice sound card Sonar Blaster Zx and Im looking in to acquire a nice headset for gaming (FPS games) so I really like to hear foot steps and directional. I'm not a music fan so I don't listen to music all I'm going to use this headset is for gaming.
Mic , I don't mind I can probably get a mod mic or a stand alone MIC.
I was told long time ago that buying separate Headset and mic is way better than a headset , and I was ready to try it out but things went wrong and had to leave my other projects apart.
Let me know guys I do trust this community.

I recommend SHP9500s open cans. They are incredibly comfortable and provide great directional sound.

Thank you for your answer, I was juts looking at those and still think there should be better ones out there in ranges of $200.+ let me know your thoughts

Paying more for headphones don't always represent better quality. I have several headphones that have costed more than $150 and I tend to use my SHP9500s the most for gaming.

Sennheisers are always a viable option (these are close to your maximum, but there are many other choices)
