Hey! I want to get a headset with a microphone for gaming. Simple eh? Well I also want the majority of sound to be heard through my main speakers whilst dialogue comes through the headset. I want this kind of set up because I play a lot of simulators and feel it would be more immersive to have environmental sounds around me whilst the headset works like a real life radio where I hear the dialogue and can speak to my friends.
Most gaming headphones I've seen seem to be designed to be the only sound source and block out everything else which obviously isn't what I want. I assume I'll have to go look further into non-gaming headsets (like ones used in call centres?) but the main question I suppose is whether the set up I described is possible, how would I do it and what headphones would be good for it?
Thank you
P.S. I already have some sweet B&W P3 headphones so I don't need them for music etc. A headset that only inputs into one ear and has a microphone is ideal.
