Gaming headset's microphone not working on new computer

My gaming headset (the Plantronics RIG) worked fine on my other computers as well as my xbox, but for my new pc the sound is fine but i cant get the microphone to work! The case has a microphone jack and a headphones jack, but the headset only has a usb and ONE cable. This means that i cant use the microphone, although on my previous computers i just had the usb in and the cable in the headphones port and the mic worked fine. Help?

Hey Glyphix, Are you sure your new computer has all the drivers necessary for the headset to function fully? If not I would suggest going to the manufacturer's site and downloading the latest drivers. Hopefully I helped a bit and if you have any other questions feel free to reply to this post or tag me in another post.
