Gaming Headsets VS Headphones

I've been using gaming headphones for a while now, and only recently been disappointed with the quality of my Razer Kraken Chromas (7.1). Since I'm getting a new headset soon, I've been investigating differant options and have found out how much better headphones are compared to all-in-one headsets. My question is, for under $200 AUD, what would be a good option for listening to music and playing FPS games such as Battlefield, COD, Rust, CSGO, ect.

As a side note I really value music quality and, at the same time, being able to pinpoint the direction of enemy footsteps, which is pretty cruicial in those games.

So what headphones would be suitable? I'm getting pretty lost in deciding what to get in a sea of products.

Very surprising for the price. You hear everything in every direction
and something as simple as a Youtube music video it brings out everything in the mix
