Hello everyone!

I would like to know which would be better to play if I decide to buy an alienware 18 laptop with its specs upgraded to the max.

(cpu: Intel® Core™ i7-4900MQ Processor (8MB Cache Overclocked up to 4.0GHz w/ Turbo Boost), (Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 880M with 8GB GDDR5 - NVIDIA SLI® Enabled), (16GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600MHz), (1TB 5400 RPM + 80G mSATA spring)). VS PS4

Price is not worrying me, I want the best portability, as I am going to Uni soon.

"anlienware would crush the ps4 though i would get eurocom laptops as they are generally cheaper and don't come with crap ware " - legokill

agree with eurocom , if you're in the us you can also check out xoticpc for a swath of various customizable machines... you tend to (overpay) a lot for a dell with alienware... Origin (i believe started by the original alienware guys) is even cheaper than Alienware: http://www.originpc.com/gaming/laptops/

thank for the advice, I looked at eurocom, but I didn't really like the design. I'm going to stick with alienware tho, thanx for the answer that i was looking for about gaming pc vs ps4.

fps does not equal refresh rate.

from tweakguides:

"FPS vs. Refresh Rate

FPS and refresh rate are two separate things. Even if the image on your screen has not changed in any way (e.g. a still 2D image like your Windows Desktop), or your 3D game isn't actually supplying enough new frames (e.g. the game is running at 25 FPS on a 60Hz refresh rate), the screen can still be redrawn a fixed number of times based on the current refresh rate of the monitor; if your FPS is less than your refresh rate at any time, the same frame may simply be redrawn several times by the monitor.

If your FPS is higher than your refresh rate at any time, your monitor will not actually be able to display all of these frames, and some will come out with a graphical glitch known as Tearing. To prevent this, you can enable an option called Vertical Synchronization (VSync). However here's the tricky part: if VSync is enabled, then your refresh rate and FPS will have a direct relationship with each other - they will become synchronized together. This is all covered in more detail in the Vertical Synchronization section of this guide."

Thanx for the reply, but correct me if I am wrong, is 1920x1080 usually 60hz refresh rate?
