Hi there,

Laptop model: Acer Predator Helios 300 from 2020.

When I hit the power button, the screen will frequently not turn on but the keyboard backlight will.

I have tried a clean reinstall of Windows 10 and repaste by a professional which seemed to fix the issue but the CPU temps weren't great, reinstalling ThrottleStop has made the issue reoccur.

If the display goes to sleep it will have the same issue as it does at start up.

To turn it on I have to hold the power button for 30secs+, wait 30-60mins, pray to my CPU and even then it may or may not post. Occasionally it will look like it's posting, the screen backlight will turn on but then crash with several vertical white lines appearing on the screen beforehand. Or it will go into the windows repair screen, where repairing does not fix the issue and "continuing to Windows 10" works half the time.

When it does post, it runs fine with no issues.

Let me know what information I can provide to help diagnose, although it may take some luck to get the laptop to switch on to attain!

Thanks for your time!

I agree in thinking that there is a hardware issue as the idle temps are around 70*c unless undervolted. Not sure I understand why it stops it from booting since I have to enable it after I've logged in.

Shall have to look at finding parts to replace it then.

Thanks for your help.
