Gaming laptop to get

Looking to get a new laptop, for some gamming mainly racing but also some of the total war series. For some video editing and some movie watching. My local best buy has a sale on the new alienware 17 r4 with the nvidia 1070. Also has the asus rog strix with the 1070 for about $300 less. Also had a msi apachi pro with the 1060 for aboit same price as rog strix. Also has hp omen with the 1050 and the dell 7567 both for under $1000. My question is would it be worth it to spend the extra for the alienware or go with a cheaper choice

Why not get a desktop?
Laptops are extremely poor value, so unless you're travelling internationally for long periods of time, a desktop will get you twice the performance for the same cost.
