- £700 Budget (Slightly over may be okay).

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
-15.6"

3. What screen resolution do you want?
-1920x1080 (standard)

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
-No this is my first laptop.

5. How much battery life do you need?
-Be able to hold a days worth of uni so 4-5 hour battery life?

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
- Call of Duty (Medium 60ish FPS), GTA V (medium 60ish FPS) and such.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
-Casual Gaming as well as Uni Work.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
- 256GB+

-Not too sure just gaming/ Uni work suitable.

- Not too bothered as long as price doesn't go through roof and is reliable.

13. What country do you live in?
- I live in England.

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
-Need something that can be used for gaming without lag as well as handle Uni work for at least 2-3 years.
-Is HP Pavilion Power 15 (£650) Worth this or can I afford better?

Hey guys,
I have a budget of £700 and I found a laptop called: HP Pavilion 15.6in Ryzen 5 8GB 256GB GTX1050 Gaming Laptop

I would like a gaming laptop that I can use to do work throughout university as well as play games on such as GTA V, Call of Duty and steam games.

would you guys recommend I buy this one or have you guys got any other recommendations around my budget of £700?

Your current laptop isn't bad (Ryzen is a good CPU, the GTX1050 is a little dated), but if you want something to will be able to handle the latest graphically intense games, then you're not really going to be able to skimp on either the CPU or the graphics chip and that will run the costs up. I would suggest a GTX 1600 or better for graphics, Ryzen 5 or 7 for CPU, and as much RAM as you can afford. Those kind of setups usually run around $1000 in the states (sometimes you can catch one on sale for $700-800). If you go with an Intel CPU, then it might be a little more.
