I am in the market for a gaming lcd and started to do some research and decided to start a thread on my findings.

First of all:

I have found so many different opionions on LCD's for gaming. One person will say it's great and someone else said it's crap.

Example: Dell UltraSharp 1900FP 19" Digital 1280x1024 LCD
Great monitor with vivrant color and crisp picture.
I have read reviews and people saying how wonderful it is for gaming.

NOT! I bought it and tested it on a few games.
Some games tested with no ghosting and some were unbearable. Battlefield 1942 was nice, but counter-strike was god awful. Needless to say I sold it to someone who doesn't game.

So I decided to go by the facts and not opinions.

Most lcd's have a response rate of 25ms which will not cut it to play all games with perfection.

Thus I am on the hunt for LCD's under 25ms response and contrast of 500:1.

The problem with producing a great lcd with gaming specs of below 20ms, is that it is costly for manufacturers. The average consumer doesn't buy an lcd for gaming.

I have yet to find a 19" or above with these specs.
Here is one LCD I have found with good specs, if anyone has any other lcd's to share please do so.

Well the 17" Hitachi CML174 has a 16ms response time, and if you're willing to wait a little while there should be some larger ones with similar response times from different manufacturers coming out early next year, but probably at expensive prices....
