I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to pay a little more for a "gaming" motherboard.

I like to do a little overclocking for fun but nothing too serious. I also enjoy saving money.

Here are the two motherboards I'm considering. I'm wondering if you guys feel the extra $50 for the gaming version is worth it?

I plan to pair one of these with a 7600k.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice.

Do you plan on overclocking? I can tell just by looking at it the the "gaming" board has a better VRM, so it may overclock cpu's slightly better with cooler VRM temps.

Do you plan on using the onbaord audio with a pair of decent headphones? The gaming board has a more powerful headphone amp and a better DAC.

Besides that they are quite similar, the gaming board likly has a more robust UEFI. Also all the RGBs and the gamer look if you like that sort of thing.

Not worth it. When it comes to motherboards you don't need to spend a lot to get a lot. They will perform roughly the same. It is the extra features on higher end mobos to look for. But I'd get the cheaper one. Have you looked at any Asus mobos?

Go cheaper and put more money into GPU.

Thanks for the response. I do plan to overclock. Nothing serious but I enjoy playing around with it.

RGB really doesn't do much for me and certainly nothing I would pay extra for.

I do plan on using on-board audio but I'm not an audio-phile so have a hard time picking up on different audio qualities.

I have always owned GB boards and they have worked very well for me so I didn't look at any other brands.

Do you have a suggestion for an equivalent Asus MB? What would be the advantage over the GB version??

If you are happy with GB I won't waste time convincing otherwise. GB is good...At Microcenter I see the Asus TUF mobo. Could consider that?
