Gaming mini keypads?

I was just wondering what's the best way to play fps games such as bf4 etc, full sized keyboards and mouse or mini keypads and mouse? Is there much difference in terms of comfort and better gameplay? Could anyone recommend any good gear for bf4

Get a mechanical keyboard and a high dpi mouse. Cooler master quickfire and logitech g500 is a good combo.
