Hey guys,

Once again, I need your help. My new system ships soon and I need a new monitor for it. I've been browsing for the last week and as soon as come close to making a decision I see something better and the whole process starts again. It's maddening. With the G / Free sync changes it's made it harder.

Originally my budget was £300 - £400 but I decided that given the fact that I'll likely have this for some years to come and that my new system is pretty strong, I'd go for something of higher quality.

So with a budget of £600 and the requirements of 144hz - 1440p - 27'' I've found a few below that I like the look of. I'm sure I'm missing some.

ROG SWIFT PG278QR - For a TN panel it's had great reviews but seems very expensive.
AG271QG - My strongest contender so far.

Are there any monitors I'm missing? For the budget what's the best I can buy?

Thank you,

---

First off, what is your new system?

1440p/144Hz is a very solid option. 4K is still a stretch for most, and 1080p is a bit underwhelming for certain hardware.

But, for 1440p/144Hz, you're looking at an absolute minimum of a 1070 IMO.

While the Freesync/G-Sync compatible changes have muddied the waters some, you're still going to be better served opting for a true GSync monitor with a GSync module inside. Failing that, the 12 or so panels that were outright "approved" would be another place to look.

I've been looking at them closely. It's difficult to choose as from what people have said they all have their issues from a QC side of things.

So I bought the AG271QG. I think it may have some bleed or it could just be IPS glow. What do you guys think? Acceptable or return?

Lights on.

Lights off.
