I was looking for a gaming monitor because I intend to buy one next week. My budget is between £150 - £200. I already found a couple on Amazon but not sure if they fit my purpose. I will primarily use it in conjunction with a gaming pc, to play shooters,MMORPGS,MOBA's, and action adventure titles. The things I require are:

1) 1080P Resolution

2) 1ms Response Time

3) 2x HDMI ports

4) Speakers

5) Good colours/contract etc

6) 24 Inch at least

These are the two BenQ models I found and I think fit my purpose

P.S : I already have an Asus 24 inch 1080P (2ms) monitor and I will be using both, not for gaming at the moment but perhaps later in the future.

My current monitor:

well there are tow things to bare in mind, if you play onlinr games or want to experience more then 60 fps - you should get a 120hz-144hz monitor. And 2nd, if 1 HDMI port is enough for you then I really reccomend the next monitor, it has 144hz and all the other specs you requested but with only 1 HDMI port + it's in your budget range.

Monitor: AOC G2460PQU 144Hz 24.0" Monitor (£199.99 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £199.99

Doesn't look bad mate unfortunately amazon needs 1-2 months to dispatch it,which is way above the time I can wait to get a monitor.

What do you think about having a 27 inch and 24 inch monitor? Will I run into any trouble regarding resolutiom, scaling when using both monitors? Also can you actually use two different sized monitors for gaming?

Well it will be kinda uncomfortable for the eyes only and very uncomfortable for gaming because of the size difference.
On the other side there will be no resolution problems of any kind, you can even run one monitor in 1080P and the other on 720P if you wish.

On the bottom line, if you plan on gaming with 2-3 monitors, I stronly recommend using monitors of the same size but only for better gaming experience.

Yes that's understandable. And lastly what do you think about the "gaming" branding on the BenQ monitors that feature flicker free technology, black equalizer, 20 level color vibrance, low blue light etc? Are those marketing tricks, gimmicks or do they actually make a difference?
