Hi, been searching for hours but want to get the right spec monitor for gaming as I plan to keep this one for some time. So hoping for some advice and monitor suggestions.

Main use will be for gaming so looking for one that will maximise my gaming experience and empathise colour and graphics. 32 inch size.

[strike]I will always be sat directly in front of the screen. I am not sure if a curved monitor give a little extra to the experience but would appreciate peoples opinions on curved screens in the replies to help make my mind up.[/strike] advised against curved

Also open to the idea of ultra wide screens, but my desk is about 112cm wide with blockages either side and i sit about 70-80cm away from the screen so not sure if that is the too close or far or just right.

Budget up to £300

Current pc build

MSI NVIDIA GTX 970 Gaming
Intel Core i5 4690K Processor
Gigabyte Z97-D3H Intel LGA1150 Z97 ATX Motherboard

Would be grateful for any comments and suggestions

dont go for a curved monitor with your budget, if the resolution itsn't at least 2k or preferbly 4k, It will feel like playing minecraft.

Also getting a 2k monitor will be alot harder for your graphics card so way lower fps for you.
This isn't a good decision for your budget.

that makes senses. So no curved monitor.

Would you also say no ultra wide screen?

Looking to spend around £300 mark (give or take a bit....if I am going to notice a massive improvement with a monitor that is closer to the £500 mark then I am happy to look into those).

I understand with this budget I might not be getting the best monitor going with all the features and specs, but looking for something that you can really see the detail in the game (all be it not every little tiny detail due to budget). But enough to sit back and see a difference when compared to a standard screen

Games I play tend to include those that are big open world or packed with arty scenery.

Bioshock
Skyrim
Final Fantasy
Mass effect
Witcher 3
batman
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
watch dogs
Deus ex
Tomb raider

I currently have the BenQ GL2450HM LED TN 24-inch Widescreen Multimedia Monitor

I feel this is too small. In the space I have I think 32 inch would be big, but still better than a 27 inch.

Desk width is around 115cm and I sit about 80 cm away from the screen. (Basically 100cm between me and the wall the monitor will sit in front of)

Do you think 32 will be too big or just right

That dell tv looks great.

But the highest I could go is £500 unfortunately. There must be a semi decent gaming monitor in that price range no? Anything 32 inch you could suggest for that price range? :S

And what are the main specs I should be looking out for in a gaming monitor?

So what exactly makes these monitors good, what specs are most important?

Guess if i go for the big spend then i might as well go for the ultra wide curved monitor?

What are your thoughts on these:

Two models the 34 and 29....but think 34 might not fit

LG 29UM68 29" Ultrawide IPS Monitor (2560x1080, 2x HDMI, DP, )

BenQ PD3200Q 32-inch 2K QHD Designer Monitor

Samsung C32HG70 32"

LG 34UC79G 34"

Oh and are the predators series worth the money?

How do the above options compare with the dell model you showed earlier which i liked

Is the dell one you recommended better than those I selected? If so what makes it so?

And is it worth it with my pc build. Why would the predators be no good with my build...my build isn't powerful enough to make max use of the screen res and quality?

were going in circles. the dell is a beautiful monitor.

sorry for all the questions.

I build this pc in 2015 and so it is perhaps time to update it a little.

are you you saying the gtx card i have wouldn't be be able to handle those games on highest settings?
