Debating on a gaming monitor to get. Here is my rough computer build that will be powering it.

i7 920 @ 3.8GHz
ATi 4890 1GB 256-bit Video Card
OCZ 6GB 1600MHz RAM

Here is the one i am looking at for my monitor:

It is a: BenQ V2400W 24" 2ms GTG 4000:1 DCR 1920 x 1200

Anyone know if this will be a good monitor for my gaming machine? Thanks.

I have no personal experience with this particluar monitor but BenQ makes nice monitors the 2400W gets good reviews.

If you are open to suggestions, I highly recommend the Hanns-G HG-281DPB. This is premo super nice monitor that offers excellent price/performance, and it's 27.5" instead of 24".

Good luck!

I own one of those. I like it: nice picture, colours, and clarity. Nice screen for wow and fps games alike.

You might find the dynamic contrast annoying but it is easy enuogh to turn off.

With a 4890 1GB powering the monitor, you will have little to no problems gaming at 1920x1200 on a 27" screen. You may not be able to play some games at the highest settings with all the eye candy, but regardless of what game you play, it will be with enough eye candy and detail with very acceptable frame rates.

I just purchased the Benq V2400w and waiting for it to arrive. I sat a 27" tv on my desk and quickly realized a screen that big would be too much, imo. The V2400 gets almost unanimous rave reviews for its price (on sale for $319 currently) and great black levels and color quality for a TN panel.
