gaming on 8gb ram

well if I try to game on 8gb ram it stutters very badly on the newer games like need for speed payback and other 2017 games and I was wondering should I upgrade it with another 8gb or 4gb and would 12gb ram be enough for gaming in 2017 ?

specs:
i5 7300hq
gtx 1050 ti
1tb and 128gb ssd
8gb ddr4 2400mhz

8Gb is okay for nowdays standard, but have you checked your temps? Is it laptop?

It really depends from Single or dual, i have dual 8GB unless he had single he maybe had perfomance issues.

Download FurMark and run burn in test, i think your GPU isn't ulitilized.
