So i am awaiting my new PC to come that i built from Cyber Power. On my old PC i was gaming on a AOC 60hz monitor. To be honest i did not notice anything from the monitor that was greatly affecting the performance it was fine for me and im not one to go out and buy a $400 monitor i mostly played CSGO Dota 2 and overwatch on it. But all im hearing is 60hz is crap and i need to be using a 120hz or 144hz or whatever. Will the Hz difference really affect performance? or is it more of a preference thing. Im planning on getting a second monitor anyways so im thinking about spending the extra money for a 120hz or a 144hz... is a really worth it?? because i when my PC comes im getting a new PSU for it and i dont want to be spending a ton of money on that and the monitor if a 60hz will do me fine.

A higher refresh rate improves the capability of your PC displaying more smoothly.

In order to take advantage of a high refresh rate (eg 144hz), your system needs to be able to produce close to that many frames (eg 140FPS.

It also depends on the game whether the smoothness has advantages. For games with lots of fast flicking (such as competitive CSGO), it can come in handy.

ok great i will get another 60hz and a PSU. by the way whats wrong with cyberpower i felt like the PC i built was for a pretty price. And their customer service has been great so far. I just hope everything comes in okay. I have a 1 year warranty

Well they have a special going on that gives you a upgraded CPU. I looked at everything.. before i ordered it got a few upgrades like the cooling system. I felt like i built a really good PC for $800 bucks and free shipping. This is my first gaming PC i have no experience building PC's myself. My next PC im going to build it at my house and learn how to do it. Only thing im worried about is i ordered the standard PSU that cyber power gives you. I dont want my PC to blow so im going to replace that and get a better one. Besides that as long as CyberPower gets my PC in on time and theres no issues with it im happy so far so good.

I have 2 graphics cards and a 144Hz monitor. Only one of the gfx cards does over 60 Hz. Games are really choppy gaming at 60 Hz.
Even things like webbrowsing is. When you scroll up and down a page, you clearly see the lines. Gives me a headache.
In my case, the 144 hz AOC monitor is one of the best purchases ever made. Anything at/over 100 Hz is good.
