Hi, I'm wondering on the gaming capabilities of the HP Stream 7. Here are the specs:
Processor: Intel Atom Z3735G quad core 1.33 GHz; burst frequency of 1.83GHz
Memory: 1GB DDR3L-RS 1333 MHz
Hard drive size: 32GB eMMC (Can be expanded)
Operating system: Windows 8.1 32-bit (Not RT; full version)
Graphics: Seems to be integrated with the processor

I'm not planning to plan on playing modern games with the device (This guy managed to play vanilla Skyrim on minimum settings with around 20 FPS, though) I'm thinking about playing older games, like Max Payne or System Shock 2. How well do you think those games would run on the Stream 7?

Solution
It would depend form game to game really if they are old ones. 1GB of RAM should be enough to play very old games. Using System SHock 2 as an example, hell it only needs 32MB of ram minimum to run, the integrated graphics should be okay for old 90's games, only think i'm not sure about is the CPU. Being a quad core my guess is that it would be alright just make sure you don't have to many resource intensive programs running in the background
EDIT: I just noticed the Skyrim bit, in that case i'm sure it would be able to run old early 2000 games. Try the site I linked just incase though :)

A really good site that could be helpful for you though is http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

This site looks up the specs of your computer and matches it against the list of minimum and recommended requirements of a game and lets you know what you meet and don't meet. I use it quite a bit although I am not sure if it has older games on there.

Hope this helps, good luck :)

Thanks! That's pretty useful!

I know this is an old post, but I'd like to add some games I know that can be played on the HP stream 7 (windows 10) on a steam account:

1. Left4dead 2
2. Tomb Raider 2013 (slightly lags a bit)
3. Team Fortress 2

Others claim that you can play Star Wars KOTOR and Battlefront 2. I haven't tested those out yet.
