[SOLVED] Gaming on Mobile Hotspot

I live in a rural area and the only good option for internet is a mobile hotspot. The ping is pretty decent 50-70 but it's almost unplayable because of how often the ping spikes 400+. Is there any way to fix this and make online gmaing possible? Would it work if i got another hotspot and used one as a failover when the ping spikes on the other?

Good lucky trying to get it to fail over that would be hard even with 2 ethernet connected internet connections.


You have 2 wireless signals involved. It could the be hotspot wifi in your house. Try putting the machine near the hotspot and see if it is better. It can also be the wireless conneciton between your house and the cell tower. This one will have issues as other people join and leave the tower. There is little you can do if it is the cell tower even another hotspot will not help if it is not from a different provider.

There is no good solution for games when you can't get a wired internet. Any form of wireless and games just do not work well together.
