I was wondering if any games support 2560x1440 or even 4K. If so, I would like to buy a 2560x1440 monitor. Also, can a Radeon HD 7770 do anything at this resolution with acceptable FPS?
almost all pc games will support 1440p, its been around for years now, and no it will not be able to do anything with hd 7770 with decent fps( perhaps 30fps at lowest settings)

Yes theres tons of games than support than resolution its been aorund a while but whether a 7770 can put it out is something else intirely. I believe a modified 7770 is whats used in the ps4 and that barely hits 60fps at 1080p on some of its games and tons run at around 30fps So i dont believe it would be able to run at 1440p
Alright, do you need any help picking one out? The Radeon R9 290 supports 4K and can give you playability.
I don't have a very big budget. Also, a card like the R9 290 will probably be bottlenecked by my FX-6300. How high up AMD's lineup can I go before I get to cards that will be bottlenecked by an FX-6300?

An r9 280 will probably be great, but it won't support 4K all too well.

Don't worry about bottlenecking too much, the phrase is used far too much. Most games will only use 4 cores anyway. More are becoming used, but I only ever use 4 cores on my fx-8350

Yes, it is. You shouldn't really be bottlenecked by that 6300 TOO much. You may have a little bottleneck. I would say that the R9 280x is best for that, though.
Alright. Im currently on a gtx 770 4gb card with an amd Fx 8320. On my 1440p monitor I get about 60 fps average on all my games kn ultra. Exceptions being total war rome 2, metro last light and crysis is fairly playable at about 30-40 fps.
With that said heres what you need to know.
Whime games are supported at 4k resolutions there not exactly optimized for them. Not to mention youll have to run the games on a low setting to get any viable fps. Even buying titan cards youre not going to get the performance youd like to see for anything close to a budget you could actually afford. Let alone the 4k monitor/tv itself. Lol
I highly recommend going with 1440p for now. Current mid high gpus can handle the resolution and anything comparable to a gtx 770 or higher will give you a solid performance for a "reasonable" price.
Currently, my 1440p panel is a korean qnix panel I scored for about 350$ give or take plus the vesa mount stand I had to order for it. (The stand they give you is cheap and flimsy.
Nexiuz just put out a new 1440p ips panel (the best you can get) and it got solid reviews for about 400$.
Youre probably going to see a sliight bottle neck with your cpu but since an 8320 is the same socket id just upgrade to one of those if it becomes a huge issue.
Make sure whatever you get has atleast 4gb of ram. Some of these guys will tell you it dkesnt matter but as someone who monitors their loads/temps I can tell you right now having that extra ram is really, realy nice.
Oh, I meant to add that gaming at 4k right now just isnt viable. The gpu tech/tv panel and pricings are just all not worth the investment at this time.
Do what im doing. Get yourself in 1440p, amaze and impress your friends still stuck in 1080p and wait out the 4k hype for a year or two until it becomes a better option flr us budget/performance enthusiasts!!
