looking to build a quality gaming computer under $1000 need help picking quality parts.

Approximate Purchase Date: not sure

Budget Range: 1000 or less

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, internet,

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, moniter, speakers

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com but open to other suggestions

Country of Origin: United States

Parts Preferences: would like to go with the i5 2500k

Overclocking: small amount yes

SLI or Crossfire: no


Additional Comments: the only thing I'm sure on this build is the processor so all help is very much appreciated.

If you won't ever Crossfire that card then I'd suggest you the 650W version of the XFX Pro. That costs $65 less. So the build would cost $734.

First of all Change that Raidmax PSU with a 750W one of any reputed brand like Corsair, Antec, Seasonic etc. That'll be able to handle two GTX 560Ti's easily.

Sparkle doesn't make crappy products, that I can tell you. One of my friends bought a GTS 450 of them. I hate (yeah, hate) MicroATX cases. Don't buy one for the sake of the lifespan of your PC components.

CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ is a better cooler at $18 less.

You'd want Extreme4 for front USB 3.0

Try to go for the bundles on newegg. You can get the msi twin froz 560ti with the core i5 2500k for $448 and corsair 750W with 8gb of corsair 1600 DDR3 RAM for $148. Also, liteon dvd burner and sata 7200 1TB hard drive (seagate) for $67. The HAF 912 case is $59. For Mobo you can get the gigbyte z68a ud3h b3 or the asrock gen3 extreme3. Total should come to $850. For me it comes close to 1k since I also need a monitor but I have not decided on a good monitor (LED or LCD??) and what is decent?

I can tell you that my system I just finished building is great. I got the combos I told you above with the rosewell challenger case and a msi twin froz II 560ti and its running great! I was playing BF3 Beta on ultra with pretty good framerate although I prefer High settings since all the eyecandy stuff makes it look weird kinda like slow motion blur and all.
