Building another computer from scratch. Want to keep the budget under $1,000 for the computer alone, as I will need to also buy accessories such as monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. that can easily add up (Accessories are not included in the 1k budget). Read through a handful of popular threads and put together what I thought is a good starting point. Most of my gaming on the PC evolves around MMOs, RTS, and RPGs.

Best bang for the buck is in mind but I would also like a good amount of the parts to be up to speed for future upgrades. ie I would like to buy a good power supply that will support future upgrades or a good motherboard, where I could update the CPU if I have the money a year or two down the line. Suggestions like these would be great.

Few things to support some decisions I made.
1) While I have read the i5 4590 is comparable to the 4460, I still chose the 4590 due to it still being a very minor upgrade and I think a few sales are going on to actually get it fairly cheaper then listed.
2) Even though the CPU cooler isn't necessary, I took the approach of one of the reviewers and went with a device that will be able to handle any future CPU's I may purchase in the future. Thoughts?
3) Pretty lost on what to choose for Motherboard, so just went with what I thought matched well for price and what I thought would have a long life span.

Any thoughts, advice, or direction would be greatly appreciated.

What about this system? You will have to leave out the CD-drive since the H440 cannot accomodate one, but you will have a much better system in DDR4 with the brand new Z170 chipset and also a beatifull black and red colour scheme. Let me know what you think!

Thank you so much for some direction. After taking some time to research your suggestions I made some changes.

I do like your approach with investing into a motherboard with DDR4 capabilities. It feels like gaming will start utilizing more of the technology in DDR4, even though there are minor differences compared to DDR3 at this time. I am willing to pay a little more in the motherboard and CPU for a step up, such as the i5-6600k and MSI Z170A 5. If you do not think this as a wise choice please help me understand. I could not find many threads/forums in regards to the major pros and cons.

Since I'll be upping the motherboard and CPU, I did take the suggestion of investing into a better CPU cooler. I did however find an alternative that may run louder but has a better CFM for half the price. Thoughts?

If you have any other suggestions for a tower alternative it would be greatly appreciated. Call me old fashioned, but I still would like the ability to have a DVD/CD writer. I realize they are somewhat obsolete with gaming turning to Downloadable content but for something so cheap, its still a nice thing to have. I chose this other tower based mainly on buyer reviews. I do not really care how large the tower is, as long as it has good air flow and accessibility. I do however feel that if I could save a little money from the extra money I soaked into CPU and motherboard, I think it could be here.

Thoughts? Once again, thank you for any input.

The reason I recommended Skylake and DDR4 is to simply show you that you do have that choice if you want, for the same price. You can go with the X99 chipset although you must increase your budget significantly :)

Regarding the cooler, if loudness is not a problem to you, then go with the one you have chosen.

Finally, the case is COMPLETELY a personal selection for obvious reasons. The only thing I can say as a guidance, is to make sure that it supports USB3.0 on the front panel and have sufficient cooling options, usually 2x120mm fans and maybe some space to accommodate a radiator IF, at some point, you decide to go with liquid cooling.

Hope this helps!
