I need some advice on a pc I've been working on. I've been trying to keep the price around $300 ($400 with the monitor). If anyone has an idea on how this will run, let me know. I want to be able to run games like Battle Field 3 on medium or low graphic settings. Here is the link to the pc http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pg1t

This will be tough - $300 computers were not meant to run games, much less one of the most demanding games out there...

Here's a better and cheaper version of that card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127586
Though I highly advise stretching for this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102969

That monitor will be absolutely terrible for gaming. Your best bet is a refurb: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824146082

That mobo is out of stock and probably terrible - get one from a reputable manufacturer if you have to cheap out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157315

Thanks for the advice. I changed the video card, mobo, and the monitor. Here is the link to the pc http://pcpartpicker.com/p/piML and how do you think the performance will be for a pc like this? What do you think it can run?

Most games on High settings, but you'll probably have to turn demanding games like Battlefield 3 down to Medium.

This will give you a decent idea of performance in various types of games: http://www.techspot.com/review/392-budget-gpu-comparison/
You'll run games in between the 1280x800 and the 1440x900 performance results seen here.

I was hoping to run battlefield 3 on medium graphics anyways. Since you saved me some money, should I try to get a better CPU for the pc?

No, unless you can stretch and get the cheapest i3. Which I highly recommend - its a good bit more, but games are starting to use more than 2 threads, especially DX11 games, so I'm not sure how much longer even a strong dual core will keep games smooth.

If you can spare $10 for a better monitor then get it.

Don't get your initial build, it isn't getting you most for your dollar.

I took your advice on getting the i3. It will make the pc last longer before I upgrade. Right now I'm sitting at $421. Is there anyway I could bring down the price? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pl07

Nope - sorry. Unless you drop to a lesser GPU or CPU. But don't.
