Gaming Pc Build $1200 Budget (Noob)

Budget Range: 800-1200


System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, internet use.


Parts Not Required: Starting from scratch so I need everything


Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com


Country of Origin: United States


Parts Preferences: by brand or type (e.g.: I don't really care. Although when it comes to gpu's I've heard Nvidia has better driver support. But it really doesn't matter as long as I can get the most for my money.


Overclocking: No


SLI or Crossfire: Maybe if it's in my budget and best interests to do so.


Monitor Resolution: most of the monitors I have been looking at buying were 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Looks on the case don't really matter as long as its well built. I am hoping to be able to play newer games at at least high settings, if that is possible with the budget I have. I also hope to not have to upgrade for awhile. I appreciate any help

Ivy Bridge upgradibility with that MoBo. PCIe 3.0 slots. i5 2400 since you wont be overclocking. HD 6970, can handle any game out there at max settings at 1080p. TX 750, can even handle HD 6970 Crossfire. Powerful PSU. HAF 912 is a great case for its price. Spinpoint F3 is a great, fast and quite drive.
You can cut the costs by getting a HD 6950 instead. ($130 lesser than the 6970)

I was wondering if I need that powerful of a power supply to support the system if I only use the 1 6970. I heard from other websites that you will be fine with a 600-650W. Is that true or is it better to just get the 750W just in case ?

Because I don't want to type paragraphs of reasoning only to have to paste it back into THG. Plus the website is mine, I try to get as much traffic to it as possible.
