Building a gaming computer to run WoW on the Ultra setting. My budget is +/- $1500, and the current build I selected (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Bd7MTW) is about $1250. What would you spend the additional $250 on? No peripherals needed. Currently using an ASUS VH226H monitor.

A 780 Ti is not really necessary for gaming.

What would you suggest in place of the 780 Ti?

Also, I am looking to build the best possible system for under $1,500.00. Thus "not necessary" is relative to what I am upgrading in place of the cost reduction.

Should I get a new monitor?

At most I would get a GTX780. As for the monitor if you don't mind the Backlight bleed from top and bottom, visible on dark/black screens, the Shiny plastic surround that attracts dust and that the Lightweight plastic stand has a big footprint on the desk then no I wouldn't get a new one

''Should I get a new monitor''

i can not see why you will need a new monitor when you have one already???
maybe to have a 144 hz instead ?? or a bigger screen??

the 780 ti should be the best investment for gaming so far if thats meet your budget?
of course a 780 or r9 280x can do the job too , its up to you if you want a futur proof rig or you will be happy with all the actually games ?? its up to you

Its Personal preference as they are very similar cards in terms of performance (the 780 is overall better though) but the R9 does have a higher power intake and is a little less expensive. Here are some benchmarks if you wana check them out:http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1068?vs=1036
