Ok so a bit of background.
I had a HP Pavillion prebuilt PC that I OC'ed to death (CPU was melted onto motherboard.)
So I replaced MB and rebuilt it inside the same case (small tower.)
Mobo:
ASRock K10N78 Full SLI R3.0 (AM3 ready but does not have core unlocking feature unfortunately.)
CPU:
Athlon X3 445, 3.1Ghz
RAM:
4 GB DDR2
OS:
Win 7 Ultimate
GPU:
GTS 250 1GB
SB:
Audigy
Generic HDD, stock fans, 650w PSU my bro donated after his rebuild that needed a 750w.
Ok you can laugh now, I cannot pvp in Swtor because of the Hero engine poor threading optimisation so my CPU bottlenecks and 30-60 fps becomes unplayable 10-15 fps. (I tried to use only one core to no avail.) Also Im running the fans at 80-100% because the Audigy sits against the GTS 250 air intake and the case just acts like a radiator (solution at the moment is to leave the side of the case off and have the tower lying on its side
So I have two options - ripmy hardware out the case, replace the CPU and the case, and go that direction. Or, I am thinking about leaving AMD and switching to Intel CPUs and a complete rebuild.
I'm thinking £1,000 max budget for this and have come up with a list that I think might do the trick and was wondering what you all would suggest.
