here is my pcpartpicker build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1YgPa

the last time i built a pc was in 1992 so, in other words, i know nothing.
I am looking for ways to improve the build and reduce the cost (preferably to under $800).

My goal is to move from console to pc gaming and I would like to be able to play games like skyrim heavily modded at max settings (graphics and immersion mods etc) while also having some ability to play recent games at near max settings. I am more of an RPG than FPS player so FPS focused build is not too important.

I hope to add another GPU for sli and an ssd in the next year as funds will allow (second child is in the oven so it may be awhile)

Thanks in advance for any advice/input!

Solution
Altered your build slightly. Your CPU and mobo are fine.
Changed your GPU to a better one.Added in a cooler.Changed your case(subjective, feel free to change it if you want to)
Your mobo does support sli/xfire(xfire in this case) but if want to do so you'll need a 700w PSU minimum. Don't know if you can afford that right now.So i changed your PSU to a 550w for the time being.

Closest I could come to $800 while still picking parts compatible with your stated goals; still had to take advantage of quite a few listed deals and discounts.

Mobo and PSU were chosen to accommodate future SLI option.
