Hi, I've built my last 3 PC's (current one over 2 years ago) and I'm looking at building a new one. I have a generally good idea of what I want in there, but I'd like to do is to avoid issues now that I'm a bit less budget conscious. Issues like known noisy fan issues, system not posting, physical incompatibility (I've seen some motherboard reviews mention 1080 Ti's not fitting because of a chip being in the way or the case not being big enough).

Things I'd like to have in it (looking for specific suggestions):
8700k
1080 Ti
32 Gb DDR 4 at 3000+ (or is 16 enough for the foreseeable future?)
Z370 MB (should have decent to great automatic overclocking; preferably matching GeForce manufacturer to I can keep the updates and OC settings to one suite)
850 W power supply (in case of future SLI?)
Mid to full tower. Something aesthetically appealing with excellent cable management and LED's that can be blue (naively or controlled RGB)
I'd also like to throw in liquid cooling in there, maybe NZXT to pair with a case? I wouldn't mind some cool looking (breathing) LED effects besides just the fans, as long as it can be coordinated in BIOS.

I have a 1GB Samsung 850 Evo. Should I get an M.2 960 Evo to hold Windows? Media will be stored on an external HD and 850 will hold the games.

Thanks in advance!

PS: is it ever worth it/ even possible to run both liquid CPU and GPU cooling?

Something like this should be pretty good...

Solution

Have you built that system before? I'm assuming STRIX has no problem running memory at 3200. How is OC on that card? Is EVGA better now? I had a last gen EVGA GeForce that made the most annoying fan sound under load! If so, is there a comparable EVGA board to make OC/firmware/software simpler to maintain?

This is current gen. Intel which has been released recently. So, no I have not built it yet.
None of the z370 boards should have any problem running 3200 memory.
That card is factory overclocked higher than most of the other cards.

EVGA does not have motherboards if that is what you are talking about. But the card is fine, and should not be a problem.
