Ok after reading articles and watching vids on how to build your own PC, I've decided to take the plunge and try it. I was almost going to buy a PC from Digital Storm but decided to give this a try. Figure I come to the best site to get advice on my build.

This system will be used for gaming so a heavy gaming build would be very helpful. With basic other PC internet stuff downloading music surfing the web watching streams playing music etc etc.... I mostly play MMO's and FPS alot of online gaming. I would like to run games on close to max settings, this old pc is having trouble running the new games.

I'm looking to buy, build this week, or next week. I am ready to order parts now money in da bank lol, just need to decide whats the best parts for a gaming PC heck I could order tonight or tomorrow. Just a lil nervous bout building my first PC. ;p

My budget is $1000.

I don't need a monitor, keyboard or mouse.

I dont plan on using any old components from this PC everything is old and out dated and dusty lol.

I might need a OS, a buddy might be able to hook me up.

Newegg will be my choice to order parts from.

I'm in Michigan actually bout 20 mins from the Micro Center near I-75.

No real parts preference not a Fan Boy of parts, but after reading alot of reviews i-5 is looking like the best choice.

Overclocking no not atm maybe in the future.

No sli or cross fire.

Monitor is 1920x1080 might go bigger but not atm.

I'm ready to upgrade cause I'm on an old socket 939 quad core 260 GTX system lol.

Could maybe go $100 more.

Solution
This one is a great alternative, for the same price : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202026&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=.
Here's my recommendation. It will perform better than the build proposed above, while being cheaper, and it's not cutting on any part :

Here's what I decided to go with, just need some suggestions on a good power supply and GPU. Prolly gonna order this coming week. I'm gonna go check out the Micro Center tomorrow near me for any of these components. I like the PC part picker but I don't know bout ordering from all those different places. I don't like to leave alot of my personal info on the net if I don't have to.

Need some advice on a GPU and power supply. And if you guys see any other components that I might be able to chnage to be better let me know, thanks ready to order sometime next week! My monitor is currently 1920x1080 and maybe sometime this year or next I'll be getting a slightly bigger monitor and like to be able to play games at max settings if possible.
